Lighting, radio and power sockets: accessories that can make or break a long road trip
This is a late model 200 series Toyota LandCruiser that we've helped getting ready for a big camping trip ahead.
The main auto electrical accessories that we installed are:
- a rear roof light, essential for camping
- GME XRS two-way radio
- rear power sockets to run a portable fridge in the rear of the vehicle.
We connected all these accessories to the auxiliary battery system. Running accessories of the auxiliary battery will prevent the starting battery from going flat and the electrical accessories can continuously run while the vehicle is parked.
A Matson blue tooth battery monitor was also installed so the charge of the auxiliary battery can be monitored via a smart phone app.
